Project Overview
Built a legal education platform and online case index for Ghanaian law students, while piloting an innovative workforce development collaboration using junior developers from DC-based coding bootcamps.
The Challenge
- Barnor Law Engine sought to create a searchable case index, membership content platform, and legal LMS for lawyers entering the Ghanaian jurisdiction. With a limited budget, a workforce pilot was established to give junior developers valuable experience while reducing costs for the client.
Our Approach & Key Contributions
Legal LMS & Membership Platform
Designed and built a custom LMS and searchable legal case index using WordPress, supported by spreadsheet automation from Google Sheets. Content included Post Call prep, exclusive notes, and a searchable database of over 5,000 Ghanaian legal cases.
→ 5,000+ legal cases searchable via spreadsheet-powered interface
Workforce Pilot Management & Technical Mentorship
Recruited two bootcamp grads, coordinated weekly technical mentorship, and oversaw project delivery across frontend and backend modules.
→ 2 workers hired, mentored, and launched into FTE roles
Career Pathway Success & Social Impact
Both developers landed Software Engineer jobs at the Washington Post and Chamber of Commerce after the project. They cited BLE as critical experience.
→ 2 full-time engineering jobs gained post-project
Tools & Technologies
Outcomes & Results
Delivered a scalable legal education tool for the client while helping early-career developers gain experience and secure high-paying jobs.
Functional MVP launched with learning and directory tools; 2 bootcamp graduates transitioned to full-time engineering roles in major institutions.
